Career Objectives

Hi, my name is Joshua Scholz. I am currently a graduate student at North Carolina state University.  Finding novel technology that can efficiently improve the current pharmaceutical field is my goal and understanding where science and applications intersect is my driving motivation. I hope to utilize my experience that spans across the entire pharmaceutical industry from pre discovery all the way to commercialization to help bring professionals together to work in teams in identifying a clear goal and path to accomplish  bringing new drugs to market.

April 2022-Present

MSAT Engineer

Generated a second-generation process for drug of interest. 

Lead efforts is establishing training department for entire MSAT

Lead Continuous improvement efforts for gene therapy

Process Development Scientist

  • Assisting in planning, execution, and analysis of studies to optimize Neurogene’s current viral vector platform for toxicology and clinical products.

  • Assisted in Tech transfer to manufacturing and validation of new GMP facility

  • Lead a team of manufucturing Associates to run Engineering run for site validation

April 2019-July 2020

BioProcess Engineer

Experienced in AAV purification. Experience in GMP, GDP, aseptic environment.

-   Efficiently learned entire downstream process for AVXS-101. Executed downstream manufacturing activities     including Clarification, TFF, Ultracentrifuge, Chromatography, and Buffer preparation for AVXS-101

-   Authored and collaborated cross-departmental in writing process SOP.

-   Reviewed and revised SOP and Master batch records to improve Good Documenting Practices for AVXS-101

-   Assisted in reviewing protocols and investigations for root cause analysis.

-   SME on Tangential Flow Filtration and Chromatography, Trained new hires on process.
